Un welcome backyard visitor

It’s a beautiful day here today. Suns shining with a light cool breeze beautiful blue skies

Don’t mind the damaged trampoline from last weeks freak storm in that pic.

Anyway being such a great day I thought why not bring the boys out to play.

They love being outside. Dylan is outside all the time I just can’t keep him indoors even if its freezing cold.

They were enjoying afternoon tea in the sunshine before we head inside Dylan goes off for a run around on the grass. I try and get him to burn off as much energy as possible it makes the evenings run so much more smoothly.

He came across this not so welcome visitor

A baby size well more like a teenage size black snake well what I thought was a black snake which Tim later informed me was actually a copperhead.

Considering we live in town in a built up residential area I was very surprised to find him. Thankfully the dogs had got to him before we came across him as it was already dead

Apparently they come in looking for water or dog food.

So always keep an eye out in the backyard and keep all dog biscuits or food in a closed container.

I know I’ll be doing a quick snake check from now on when I let Dylan out to play.

Christmas activities

20121206-095152.jpg

I love the feeling of Christmas it would have to be my favourite time of year and with the twins being older enough now to get involved it makes it that much more special.

Christmas to me is spending time with your family. As the year is coming to an end it’s a time to be grateful of everything that has happened in the year. Thinking of all the good things and feeling truly blessed for what we have.

I have also started to do lots of Christmas activities with my boys. First pic is our completed Christmas tree. Which is now missing a decoration or two as the twins think its great to hide them.

We then made the most delicious shortbread christmas cookies
Which I didn’t save the link for but if you type basic shortbread into the search box on Taste.com.au you should find it I used custard powder instead of corn flour.

We made some wrapping paper. Just wrapped nappy wipe boxes with blue wrapping paper but with the white side up.

Harrison then decided to brush up on his unwrapping skills.

And lastly we finally wrote our Santa letters.

What Christmas activities do you love to do with your children? Because I’m fast running out of ideas. All I can say is Thank god for Pinterest.
